MIKE McDUFFEE
Captain
The Support Services Division is currently commanded by Captain Mike McDuffee. Captain McDuffee started his career with the Larkspur Police Department in 1978. He became a member of the Twin Cities Police Department when the Larkspur Police Department and the Corte Madera Police Department merged in1980. Mike has served in every capacity within the organization including patrol, investigations, traffic, and supervision. Mike was promoted to the position of captain in 2005. Captain McDuffee is a graduate of the University of San Francisco where he obtained his Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) degree. Mike is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Institute and the FBI National Academy. He holds many law enforcement certificates.
The Support Services Division is comprised of four functional sections including Administration, Communications, Investigations, and Juvenile.
ADMINISTRATION:
Bears the responsibility for managing the operations of the entire department including:
- Office of the Chief of Police
- Recruitment, testing and background investigations
- Fiscal Management and Budget Preparation
- Planning and Research
- Disaster Management
- Administers payroll
- Administrative tasks delegated by the Twin Cities Police Council and Management Committee
The Chief of Police, two Captains, one sergeant and one administrative/confidential secretary staff this section.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Provides public safety dispatching to the Twin Cities Police Department with a computer aided dispatch system. Additional responsibilities include maintaining police records for retrieval and input into a police records management system. This section also compiles departmental statistics, maintains files, ensures property and evidence control, and conducts annual police property auction. Personnel include five dispatchers, one telecommunications specialist, and one dispatch supervisor.
INVESTIGATIONS:
Provides follow-up criminal investigation for all serious criminal offenses and coordination in the implementation of the TRAK program. Personnel in this section include two investigators.
JUVENILE:
Provides juvenile services including follow-up investigations for criminal offenses by and against juveniles, and school liaison. One juvenile investigator is assigned to this section.
